MIT OpenCourseWare | Home

At a press conference on April 4, 2001, MIT announced its commitment to make the materials from virtually all of its courses freely available on the World Wide Web for non-commercial use. This new initiative, called MIT OpenCourseWare (OCW), reflects MIT’s institutional commitment to disseminate knowledge across the globe.

This is going to be available on Sep 30th… Worth looking into.

UN action against Bush

Yahoo! News - WAR CRY

NEW YORK–Making the case for United Nations ( news - web sites) intervention against the United States, Iranian President Mohammad Khatami ( news - web sites) told the organization yesterday that military action will be “unavoidable” unless the U.S. agrees to destroy its weapons of mass destruction.

You know, even though it is satire, I have thought on many occasions similar thoughts. The US has definitely been acting like an angry revengful child with no wisdom and a lot of dangerous toys to play with. I do think that at this time they present a bigger threat to world peace than Iraq does.

dive into mark/September 25, 2002

There seems to be a revolt happening around the late RSS wars… People are inventing all sorts of new formats for syndication. I have to say that this RSS thing has been quite nasty and i’m quite amazed at the amount of backstabbing that was going on.

argument against Bush

Know thine enemy
In Slate, Michael Kinsley makes a cogent, and characteristically pragmatic, argument against Bush’s war-on-terrorism rhetoric. If you just keep repeating that your enemy is “evil,” and don’t explore his motivations, you’re going to do a lousy job of preventing other enemies from proliferating.

Soliloquist - thoughts in solitude

it were the latest Star Wars instalment, Good versus Evil. Just remember a few points when you talk about Saddam being Evil. Iraq has never been linked to the horrendous events of one year ago. As Saddam gassed the Kurds, Bush Senior was wooing Iraq with regards lucrative trade deals. The West supported Iraq during their war with Iran. The UK and US stood by as Indonesia first invaded East Timor and then slaughtered two-thirds of the islands population. Both the UK and US supported Pol Pot. Americans helped to raise funds for the IRA, funds that were used to plant bombs in busy shopping centres.

Insightful as ever! It’s amazing how selective/short our memories are.
